The Rose Festival Needs YOU to Volunteer!

As is always true, there are many volunteer opportunities available for this year's Rose Festival. The Rose Festival relies on special people to put on our various events -- and the festival couldn't happen without VOLUNTEERS!

In only a few short weeks, the PGE/SOLV Starlight Parade will hit the streets -- ready to uphold the title of the 'Cleanest Parade in the World.' Rose Festival is proud to be an award-winning GREEN FESTIVAL. Volunteers have collected SOLV trash bags from spectators following the Rose Festival Parades for more than a dozen years and in doing so, have saved taxpayers thousands of dollars by picking up literally tons of trash. To keep this tradition alive, 100 bag collecting volunteers are needed for the PGE/SOLV Starlight Parade, on Saturday, May 31.

We also need volunteers for Rose Festival's newest event, the Regence Grand Floral Walk! You can help with the biggest event day in the Pacific Northwest by being part of the invaluable volunteer crew of the festival's brand new health and fitness event.

And don't forget to keep that green activity going for the KeyBank Grand Floral Parade, on Saturday, June 7.

Did you know that the 'Director of the Year' award is now officially called the 'Wayne Huddleston Director of the Year' award? Wayne is a former PRFF Board member (now deceased) who exemplified what volunteerism means to the Rose Festival. There was no task too small, too big, or too dirty for Wayne to jump in and tackle with enthusiasm!

Here we see Prince Regent Bob Strader (of the Royal Rosarians) and Wayne out helping with a clean-up effort.

Wayne is missed, but his voluteer spirit remains an inspiration to all!
