Rose Festival Announces New President and the 2013 Theme
October 31, 2012
Todd Johnston was officially voted in as Portland Rose Festival Foundation President at the Annual Fall Board meeting Thursday October 25, 2012 -- along with a new slate of foundation officers. One of Todd's first official duties was to announce the theme for the 2013 Rose Festival season: Portland's Party.
"For Portland's Official Festival, the day of the Grand Floral Parade is the largest outdoor party in Oregon," said Todd. "It just makes sense to call it what it is, Portland's Party. It's one big celebration for all ages to enjoy."
Todd served four years as an officer (two terms as Vice President and two terms as President-Elect) before moving into the office of Portland Rose Festival Foundation President. New officers under Todd include: President-Elect Frank Chinn (retired music educator), Vice-President Brett Baker (Senior Vice President at US Trust), Secretary Sarah Friend (Employee Benefits Consultant, The Partners Group), Treasurer Arthur DeBow (Director of Exhibitions and Alumni Affairs, Oregon College of Art and Craft) and Assistant Treasurer Peter Mack (President/CEO of Occuscreen). The Foundation also welcomed four new members to the board: Melissa Damm, Program Manager for Providence Health & Services, Melissa Kunde, Executive Director of the Portland Area Radio Council, Carla Stenberg, Carla Stenberg LPL Financial, and Mark Williams, DWA Trade Show & Exhibition Services.
Todd Johnston (CEO of Selectron Technologies Inc.) lives in Lake Oswego with wife Stefanie and two children, where he was active in the local community through committee work at both the school and district levels, as well as coaching youth sports. Todd graduated from Oregon State University and started his career at Moss Adams CPA in 1992. He joined Selectron Technologies in 2002 and received the Portland Business Journal's 'Forty Under 40 Award' in 2008.
