Turn Up the Radio!

March 27, 2012

Rose Festival has gotten glee-ful about vocal music! The crowd-pleasing adult choir, the Conchords Chorale, is back this year to help celebrate the centennial of that Portland icon, the Royal Rosarians, with a special concert called 'The Royal Rosarian Radio Show.' During two concerts at the historic Hollywood Theatre, the Conchords will recount the memorable events of the past century, featuring songs from the golden age of Rock 'n' Roll blended with words and photo memories.

Whether you're a Sweet Caroline or a Mrs. Robinson, you'll Cherish the opportunity to sing along with familiar songs by The Beatles, the Association, Simon & Garfunkle and Neil Diamond, to name just a few.

An all-volunteer group under the able direction of composer-arranger Don Anderson, the Conchords' mission is to provide the best in vocal entertainment while creating an environment for educational growth and therapeutic services for the senior community as well as for choir members. The group performs all over the Portland metro area during the year, including a highlight holiday concert at The Old Church in SW Portland.

The program will be presented during two concerts, Friday, June 8, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 10, 2:00 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale.
