Rose Festival Director of Sales and Marketing Elected Otta President
September 24, 2008
Carol Ross, who was recently promoted to the position of Director of Sales & Marketing for the Portland Rose Festival Foundation, took office for a two-year term as President of the Oregon Tour & Travel Alliance (otherwise known as OTTA). "I am extremely excited to be able to serve in this capacity and help grow the visibility for Oregon -- bringing more packaged travel business to our members," said Ross. "We're fortunate to live in a region where we're all eager to work together toward this common goal."
Carol Ross graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History Education from Central Washington University in 1991, and pursued a teaching career in Vancouver before changing her focus to sales and marketing. Carol has worked for the Portland Rose Festival for 10 years, and one of her many responsibilities with the Festival is managing relationships with tourism industry partners, as well as sales to the group and packaged travel market. Ross lives in Northeast Vancouver with husband, Brian, an architect for Group Mackenzie in Portland, and 4-year old daughter, Aisha. Carol loves music, and as an accomplished Piccolo player has even found a few moments in her hectic festival schedule to play with the Rose Festival's popular One More Time Around Again Marching Band -- as well as Vancouver's Westwinds Community Band.
OTTA is a non-profit membership organization working in partnership with Travel Oregon to promote group and packaged travel to the state of Oregon. Carol has been an active member of OTTA, and has served on the Board of Directors for more than five years, most recently serving as chair of the Marketing committee.
Thanks to the commitment of OTTA's leadership and members, Oregon stands out as a leader in promoting the state to the tour and travel industry, with a significant presence at travel trade shows such as the National Tour Association (NTA) annual convention and Addison trade shows in western Canada. The Oregon Tour and Travel Alliance meets quarterly in various locations around the state. For more information, visit: OregonPackagedTravel.Com
